Unsplurge Mobile App Review
Unsplurge is a unique money saving app that may or may not be for everyone because rather than simply allowing you track and monitor your spending, it utilizes communal sharing and a little bit of “peer pressure” to keep you on track.
So, if you know…
That you need to save and manage your money better and struggle adhering to a budget, you may just find that the “social” aspect of sharing our goals and sharing your progress with a community of like individuals may be just what you need in order to succeed!
Unsplurge is a mobile app that can be downloaded to any iOS device that will allow you to set “savings” goals that can be shared with other Unsplurge users.
So like many…
Diet or weightloss plans that incorporate a “weightloss” body in order to increase the success of the program, Unsplurge allows you to “connect” with other individuals using Unsplurge to collectively encourage one another to stick with the budget!
Unsplurge helps you save by making “saving” a SOCIAL ACTIVITY!
Here’s how Unsplurge works:
Set your “saving” goal.
- Begin logging or tracking your savings every day within the Unsplurge app.
- You can count everything from skipping that extra shot of espresso to the gas you saved by ordering a product online (with free shipping!) rather than going to the store and purchasing it yourself. When it comes to “saving”, every bit of money you don’t spend can be contributed to your savings goal within the Unsplurge app.
- Share your progress and accomplishments with other Unsplurge users.
- Get motivated and find those other Unsplurge users out there that are going to push you to meet your goals!
- Accomplish what you set out to achieve and start the process all over again!
Interesting Features within the Unspluge App.
One cool thing about Unsplurge is that you can set a goal and save for it with another person. You just have to sync your accounts and then you can see who is putting in what. And if one person seems to be saving a little less…you can give a gentle nudge! Now we call this the Spouse-Saving feature, but this could be applicable to anyone, a friend, a sibling, a roommate, etc…
Add photos to your goal.
This is a small but nice feature. Rather than just putting “Saving for France” you can add a photo of the Eifel tower so every time you open the app, you get that little extra push to save. This is great for visually motivated people.
Does Unsplurge cost anything to use?
Nope! It’s free to use. So even if you try it and decide it’s not the right “app” for you, you really haven’t lost anything so you need not worry about “wasting” any money giving it a try.
Some potential drawbacks to Unsplurge.
This app doesn’t seem to be available on Android just yet but hopefully it will be soon! iPhone users, however, can enjoy saving money with a little social motivation!
(Now we could be wrong here, but if we are, we’ll then the drawback would be that it’s really hard to find on an Android device).
In order to download Unsplurge you must be at least 17 years old. So, if you’re a minor be sure to get parental permission before using.
