Gastritis is one of those pre-existing medical conditions that will often times be “underestimated” when it comes time to applying for a traditional term or whole life insurance policy.
But just because…
We tend to overlook the “potential” affects gastritis may have on someones life insurance application, doesn’t mean that an insurance underwriter will!
This is why it’s…
It’s important to “treat” gastritis as a potentially “serious” medical condition when purchasing a life insurance policy so that you’re sure to take the necessary steps to ensure that you’re getting the “best” possible deal on your life insurance policy and don’t get caught “off-guard” when questioned about it during the underwriting process.
When it comes to getting approved for a traditional term or whole life insurance policy, not all life insurance companies are going to consider “every” pre-existing medical condition the same.
That while it’s certainly possible that one insurance company may not consider your gastritis a “major” concern, another life insurance company may use it as a way to disqualify you from being eligible for a preferred rate.
This is why…
Here at TermLife2Go, we’re going to want to know all about your gastritis so that we can be sure that before we apply for life insurance, we’ll be able to rule out any insurance company that may not be the “best” fit for you due to your gastritis.
So… How can you be sure that you’re getting the “best” deal on your life insurance?
That’s easy, you can either become an expert in the life insurance industry, or you could choose to work with an insurance brokerage that walks you through the process of applying for life insurance with a condition like gastritis so that you don’t need to become an expert! The choice is up to you.
In our experiences, here at TermLife2Go, we’ve found that people really appreciate it when we explain:
- How life insurance works.
- What the process of applying for life insurance will look like.
- And what possible outcomes one should expect before the decide to apply for coverage.
This way, they can have a better understanding of the process as a whole and be much better equipped to make a well-informed decision.
But we also…
Understand that not everyone wants to speak with a life insurance agent in the beginning when they’re only getting started looking into purchasing a life insurance policy.
This is why we’ve chosen to write this article so that you can get a “general” idea about the process and hopefully, when you’re ready, you can give us a call so that we can thoroughly explore all of your options.
So, without further ado, let’s briefly outline what the process of applying for life insurance will typically look like.
One of the first things that we’ll like to do here at TermLifeGo before we start discussing certain policy types is find out exactly why an individual wants to purchase a life insurance policy and how much insurance coverage they think they’ll need.
This is because…
Knowing why you want to purchase a life insurance policy will often dictate which type of life insurance policy is going to be the “best” for you.
For example, are you looking for coverage to:
- Pay off a mortgage.
- Protect lost wages in the event of an early death.
- Protect a spouse of child.
- Or simply cover one’s final expenses?
From here, we’ll then want to begin exploring what “types” of life insurance policies you can qualify for.
It’s at this point that…
We’ll begin asking you questions about your current health status and about any pre-existing medical conditions that you may or may not have. It’s also when we’ll begin asking you specific questions about your gastritis.
Because you see…
When it comes time to getting approved for a traditional term or whole life insurance policy after you’ve been diagnosed with gastritis, what you’re generally going to find is that most life insurance companies will insure you (provided you would otherwise be eligible for coverage). In fact, you may even qualify for a no medical exam life insurance policy as well!
The rate that you may qualify for can range from a Preferred Plus (the best possible rate available) all the way to a Table C.
Now, it’s pretty obvious that if you qualify for a rate called a Preferred Plus, you’re doing pretty good, but what about if you qualify for a Table C, what does that mean?
Afterall, what is a Table Rate?
And this is what you should be asking, so let’s just take a moment and discuss how exactly insurance companies “rate” individuals.
In the world of life insurance ratings…
Your, generally going to have 14 different rate classes that are broken down into two different categories, rated and non-rated. In the non-rated category you’ll have Preferred Plus, Preferred, Standard Plus and Standard. In the table rates you’ll have Table A (which would be considered the best or least expensive table rate) to Table J (which would be considered the worst or most expensive table rate).
So, what is a table rate?
A table rate is an insurance rate that is reserved for “higher” risk applicants who are not able to qualify for at Standard or better rate. And when it comes to those who have been diagnosed with gastritis, these rates will be reserved for those who are suffering from “severe” symptoms due to their gastritis.
Symptoms such as:
- Severe and chronic belly pain.
- Chronic vomiting.
- Malnutrition or low body weight due to a chronic loss of appetite.
Now if these symptoms…
Describe you, then there is a good chance that you’ll most likely end up with a Table Rating when you apply for a traditional term or whole life insurance policy.
The good news is…
That for most, gastritis does not cause one to suffer from such extreme symptoms. In fact, many individuals may be completely “asymptomatic” which is why we see insurance companies approving individuals over such a “wide range” of rate classes!
It’s also why…
We here at TermLIfe2Go will also usually, have one or two different insurance companies simultaneously “compete” for your business prior to actually submitting your life insurance application to any “One” company.
