To be honest with you, we here at TermLife2Go would rather have a client call in and let us know right away that they’re taking Hyzarr to treat their blood pressure vs someone who says that they’re not taking any medications because their perfectly health.
This is particularly true if the client calling in is over the age of 40!
Why you ask?
This is because the client who has already been diagnosed with high blood pressure and been prescribed Hyzarr is also the “type” of client who is more likely to visit his or her doctor for regular checkups and is also probably much more aware of what their “actual” health is.
When we have a client call in (particularly over the age of 40) and tells us that their perfectly health but actually hasn’t been to their primary care physician for years, we’re always run risk of “discovering” that our perfectly health applicant actually has:
Our “Hyzarr” clients will theoretically know if they have any issues with their cholesterol or blood sugar levels which is why it’s much easier to help these folks right away.
Insurance companies and blood pressure medications:
As a general rule of thumb, provided that you don’t have any serious pre-existing medical conditions that are causing your high blood pressure, those who are using medications to treat their blood pressure should still be eligible for a Preferred or Preferred Plus rate class.
Assuming you know where to look!
But one also needs to be sure that…
There aren’t any other factors that could come into play, when determining the outcome of your life insurance application. Factors such as your:
- Height and weight.
- Existence of any other pre-existing medical condition.
- Family history of cancer, heart disease, stroke or diabetes.
- In the past 12 months have you used any tobacco or nicotine products?
- In the past 12 months have you used any marijuana products?
- Are you currently working now?
- In the past 12 months have you applied for or received any form of disability benefits?
- Do you have any set plans to travel outside of the United States?
- In the past 2 years have you applied for bankruptcy?
- Have you ever been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor?
- Do you have any issues with your driver’s license such as a suspended license, multiple moving violations or DUI?
- Do you actively participate in any dangerous activities such as hang gliding, sky diving or bungee jumping?
Now just so we don’t worry you too much…
Even if you find yourself saying “Yes” to one or several of these questions, that doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to find coverage or that you’ll now have to pay a lot more for your insurance, it just means that you’re now probably going to need to be more “strategic” in how you apply!
What do we mean by this?
What many people don’t know is that each insurance company is going to have its own set of internal underwriting guidelines that help them determine who they do and don’t want to insure. Additionally, these “guidelines” are also used to determine that “price” that one will be approved at.
Which means that…
It’s quite possible that two different insurance companies can each use their own internal underwriting guidelines to reach two totally different conclusions! This is why it is so important NO MATTER HOW HEATHY you are to apply for your life insurance with a brokerage that has access to dozens of different life insurance companies.
The main deciding factor on whether or not you can qualify for that Preferred rate class may have nothing to do with how healthy you are, it could simply be due to some “random” internal underwriting guideline that some insurance companies choose to value!
Example being: Having a bankruptcy within the last 2 years! What does that have to do with your health?
