So, what is the Grocery iQ app?

The Grocery iQ is an app that can be downloaded to either an iPhone or any Android device which is designed to help make shopping for groceries easier.  It works by helping its users:

  • Create grocery lists using it’s a database of products,
  • From there, you’re able to scan products as you shop so that you can “check off” items as you go through the store.
  • Grocery iQ also helps you shop while in the store, by organizing items on your list as you would naturally encounter them in the aisles.
  • Lastly, the Grocery iQ app will also keep a “history” of your shopping items, and then “auto suggest” items that you may need which can be help when creating your next grocery list.

Grocery iQ Has Coupons Too!

The Grocery iQ app can also be used as a money saving app as well by taking advantage of many coupons that can be found within the Grocery iQ app itself or by using Grocery iQ to add points to your grocery store’s loyalty point program/ card.

There are tons of deals that you can find on Grocery iQ – so this is an important feature. In a way, we here at TermLife2Go feel that these coupons represent the “best” part of using the Grocery iQ app which is why we’ve chosen to include the Grocery iQ app as one of our Top Money Saving Apps of 2017.

How much does it cost to use Grocery iQ?

In addition to helping you save time and money while shopping for groceries, the fact that the Grocery iQ app is a free app – free to use, and free to download, it’s hard not to recommend it to anyone looking to save a few bucks while at their local grocery store.

Additional Benefits to using the Grocery iQ app.

The Grocery iQ app is exceptionally useful to pretty much everyone since, well, we all have to grocery shop. It’s the kind of app you’ll keep going back to almost on a daily basis. You can add items to your list the minute you think about it, so you won’t forget about it later.

It’s also really easy to use which is another great feature cause what good would the Grocery iQ app be if it wasn’t easy to use, right?

That said however…

Nothing in this world is perfect, so let’s just take a moment and discuss some potential “disadvantages” to “cons” to using the Grocery iQ app and see if these potential “flaws” are significant enough to keep you from trying it out.

Potential “flaws” associated with the Grocery iQ App.

Printing Coupons.

If you want to print from the Grocery iQ app, there have been some complaints that it doesn’t always work as it should. So, if printing out a bunch of coupons is something that you’re into, you may want to wait till they get this “glitch” fixed or just be aware that this may be an issue.

That said however…

Isn’t it better to always go paperless whenever you can! That’s kind of the whole point of using an “app” to help you go shopping anyways, right?

Relevance of your search.

Sometimes when you search for a coupon, irrelevant items may come up in the search. This usually happens when the Grocery iQ app doesn’t have a coupon for the product you’re actually looking for – which triggers some type of “default” search causing Grocery iQ to recommend something else you might want as well.  Sometimes the “alternative” option is a good one, sometimes it’s totally “unrelated” to what you were originally looking for.

Now is this…

A huge issue?  We don’t think so, but it could be a deal breaker for you.

Cons of Grocery iQ

If you want to print, there are some complaints that it doesn’t always work as it should. But in this day in age, we suggest you always go paperless whenever you can! That’s kind of the whole point of having it in an app – so you just don’t have to print.

Founders of Grocery iQ

This app was founded in 1998. Of course, back then, there weren’t smartphones created just yet, so as you can imagine, the company was a lot different back then. However, in 2009 it was acquired by – which is why there are so many good deals to find on Grocery iQ.  It’s also why you need not worry if the Grocery iQ app is legit or if the Grocery iQ app is a scam… because it’s not!

Which brings us to the obvious question…

“Why is a life insurance brokerage, writing an article about the Grocery iQ app?”

Which is a great question to have and one that we’re more than happy to answer.

Because our primary goal at TermLife2Go is to help our clients improve the financial security of their loved ones, anything that can help our clients save money and improve their financial situation is something that we here at TermLife2Go can get behind.

That said…

We’re naturally inclined to believe that purchasing an affordable life insurance policy is probably a much better “vehicle” to protect a loved one in the future (Interested in knowing what it would cost, just click here Term Life Insurance Quotes), but we understand that not everyone is going to be able to qualify for a life insurance policy and not everyone is going to be able to currently afford a life insurance policy if they are currently living on a restricted budget.

Which is why…

In a perfect world, everyone reading this article who doesn’t have a life insurance policy in place and has a need for an insurance policy would be able to use this app to save money and purchase that life insurance policy that they need.

Now will this happen?

Probably not, but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t give the Grocery iQ app a try.  Because while we would love for you to use it to finance a life insurance policy, we ourselves do not receive any compensation from the owners of the Grocery iQ app.   So, if you choose to use it, great!  If not, that’s ok too… perhaps one of the other money saving apps that we have listed in the following article may be better for you:

Or perhaps you’d prefer an alternative way to saving more money or even better Earning more money!  If so, we would encourage you to take a look at these following articles:

Now we’ve already mentioned this before but we feel its worthy of saying again.  Here at TermLife2Go, we’re just a bunch of life insurance agents.  We’re not financial experts, investment specialists, tax advisors or money managers.   All we’re really good at is helping folks qualify for life insurance.  So, if you have any questions about how to save more money, earn more money or how to invest your money, our advice would be to first ask your financial advisor, and if you don’t have one… consider getting one!
